Growth

Firstly hello I hope that you’re doing well. You may have notices that there was no newsletter last week and that’s because I was sick. I thought about continuing to do things I normally do but I thought to myself “take your own advice” so I did and I allowed myself to rest and recover. During that time resting I had a lot of time to think and something that stuck on my mind was my current situations and assets i.e. career choice, type of income, new applied knowledge etc. And I thought to the beginnings of each of those things and how they all started as a thought. And I said to myself “If I didn’t start it small it would’ve never gotten big.” And I sat with that sentence for a little bit thinking about how I could turn it into a newsletter because that seemed like a strong message.

It is said that the hardest part of doing something is starting, but I have slightly different thoughts about that because I’d say the hardest part of doing something is trying really hard at it and not seeing the progress that I imagined I would see. And that could go with anything like working out, some type of financial strategy, changing a behavior etc. I think the main problem with that is the need for some type of instant gratification from an instant result. Its like “Well I’m trying and I’m doing my best so where’s the reward???”

And its hard to remember that even though we as humans function on quick results in our made up society, that isn’t the nature of the natural world. The natural state of the world that we live in is constant change at a steady pace. Think about it, the sun rises and falls at a slow and steady pace every day(relatively), plants grow at a slow and steady pace after they are planted, we’re aging at a slow and steady pace. So if the natural state of the world is constant change at a slow and steady pace how can we expect anything different of ourselves or our endeavors? Why not give ourselves the same grace and respect that we give to a budding flower? Imagine if the earth decided that it was spinning too slow and sped up a little bit or if your cells got impatient and decided that they wanted to age a little faster. That wouldn’t be fun at all. I’m saying all this to say whatever the thing is that you are starting or growing allow it the grace that it needs to grow. Of course as I’m typing this to you I’m typing it to myself as well because I get so impatient sometimes. But what I know from experience is that growth in any capacity is unavoidable as long as it’s allowed to happen.

Subscriber Corner

We’re currently sitting at 238 subscribers y’all that is amazing. And its happening by growing 1 or 2 subs every other day. That’s that slow and steady growth I mentioned.

Here are some words from one of the community responding to the previous newsletter and honestly it goes with todays theme as well.

If you would like to provide a response for next week here is the link!
