“Wasn’t This Supposed To Come On Monday?”
Yep! I changed my mind on what day the newsletter gets sent out because Monday is such a serious day and Friday feels like more of a “Weeee!” day if you will.
The Root Word Of Encouragement is Courage.

It might seem like a simple thing to point out, but its powerful if you think about it. With all that is going on in the world and our personal lives at the same time, it is very easy to get “worn down” especially when it comes to our perspective on life. It takes a great deal of courage to stand in the face of struggle, be it large or small, and say “you know what I’m going to be alright.”
It is nothing short of a heroic feat to get up day after day and week after week doing what you need to do to take care of yourself and loved ones. So if you have not said it to yourself I will say it here; YOU ARE DOING GREAT.
I’m saying this to you all but I’m saying it to myself as well as i type this. We often take our small wins for granted because “that’s what’s supposed to happen I’m supposed to get that done” but the point is you’re doing it whatever “it” is. Take some time to make your accomplishments a big deal because they are.
Do You Want Anything?
I was met with this question earlier this week during a conversation with a friend. We talked about desire and money and how often times talking about money and desire feels like some sort of a taboo because of the negative connotations surrounding the those things.
We all desire things. We know that we don’t need the things that we desire to be happy because real happiness is of intrinsic nature. Real happiness comes from accepting oneself and realizing who we are as it relates to our existence in the world. But its sure fun to take part in the fun things the outer part of our existence has to offer. Its ok to want to take part in these things and not be consumed by them, that’s what balance is. That was the first part of the conversation.
The second part of the conversation was about the importance of money. Is it as important as we make it? I was caused to ask myself the question why do I want money. and the only answer that came to mind was simply about paying bills and mundane things of that nature. Which I realized is fine if that’s all that I want to do, but its not all that I want to do. I realized that I needed to ignite my lust to live.
My challenge to myself since that conversation has been to transform that question from why do I want money to why does money want me? That question helped me to discover my true desires for my life. Paying bills is a reason to want money, but things like desiring a life of travel and always pouring into myself and my crafts to be the best version of me are reasons for money to want me.
Think about how attractive you are to the things that you want. If someone walked into a room with a briefcase full of money and said “this is going to the person with the most fun desires” what would your statement be? The goal is to shift the focus away from a desire for money and put the focus on living life as genuinely as possible. To confidently say “I don’t need money money needs me". That puts money in it’s proper place which is as a servant of our lives and not a driving factor.
Here is a great video on desire narrated by Alan Watts. Watch it when you have time!
